MON, MAY 21 2018-theG&BJournal–The former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh collapsed shortly before his trial began in an Abuja High Court today, stirring up mixed reaction bothering mostly both on surprise and contempt.
Witnesses who say they are not convinced called the sudden incident ”theatrics” while some others, mostly his supporters were visibly shaken and concerned that his condition has so suddenly deteriorated. The judge stood down proceedings to allow medical officials intervene.
Metuh is standing trial for alleged money laundering of N400million being part of the funds linked with former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
Metu is currently on admission at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital undergoing treatment according to his lawyer, Emeka Etiaba, for undisclosed ailment. The former PDP spokesman was wheeled back to the court today following the threat by Justice Okon Abang to revoke his bail if he fails to appear in court.
