EDO, AUGUST 2, 2016 – Mr Godwin Obaseki, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, has promised to reopen the Agbede-Warake Farms in Etsako West Local Government Area.Obaseki made the promise when the APC campaign train anchored in Jattu near Auchi on Monday.
He said the farm was important to the human capital development agenda of his administration if voted into office as the farm would create not less than 10,000 jobs.
He also said that mechanised system of farming would be introduced and more access roads Would be constructed.
He said the Agbede-Idegbi Road, in particular, would be giving priority so that the people could link up and transport their farm produce from one point to another.
He also promised to ensure that the Edo University, Iyamho, become one of the best in Africa within eight years.
Earlier, his running mate, Mr Philip Shaibu, gave assurance that he and Obaseki would complete the Jattu erosion control project.
The team had visited the Ogieneni of Uzaire, Kadiri Imonikhe, Omogbai iv, where Gov. Adams Oshiomhole presented Obaseki and Shaibu to the monarch.
Obaseki had at the palace gave the assurance that the pace of development in the council area would be accelerated.
He said that the achievements of Oshiomhole was one of the challenging factor that prompted his decision to contest for the governorship election.
Responding, the monarch said that the APC government had done well for the people and he believed the people would vote for the party.
