OANDO PLC denies import and supply of adulterated PMS despite NNPC’s investigations

FRI 11 FEB, 2022-theGBJournal- OANDO PLC is disputing claims that it imported and supplied adulterated or substandard Premium Motor Spirits (PMS) a day after it was named by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited as one of the four firms that imported and distributed the damaging PMS (Petrol).

The oil company’s management said Thursday in a brief statement that the PMS it supplied met Nigeria’s import specification.

‘’We want to assure the public that Oando as a responsible corporate citizen would not partake in the importation, distribution, or marketing of substandard petroleum products,’’ Oando said in the statement signed by its Company Secretary, Ayotola Jagun.

The NNPC Ltd had Thursday after its investigation, revealed the presence of Methanol in four PMS cargoes imported by Direct-Sale-Direct-Purchase (DSDP) suppliers including MRS,  Emadeb/Hyde/AY Maikifi/Brittania-U Consortium, Oando and Duke Oil .

The listed companies imported the adulterated petrol from Antwerp-Belgium
