NYSC boss commends Nigeria Army for working with scheme

JOS, AUGUST 16, 2016 – Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazure, the Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has commended the Nigerian Army for working with the scheme.Kazure made the commendation on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Armoured Division, Maxwell Kohobe Cantonment, Jos.

The NYSC boss expressed joy that the GOC had availed the NYSC the use of army facilities for the conduct of its annual nationwide promotion examinations holding in Jos.

“I am very thankful for the cordial relationship that is existing between the scheme and the command, the synergy we have with the army is very strong,” he said.

The Acting GOC, Brig.-Gen. Elvis Njoku, represented by Col. Ibrahim Dogara, assured the NYSC of the command’s continuous collaboration.

“We in the 3 Division of the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment will continue to give full support and partnership to the scheme,” he said.

The NYSC boss also paid a visit to Major-Gen. Rogers Nicholas, the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, the formation in charge of the peace building on the Plateau.

Kazaure thanked the commander for his assistance to the scheme, especially in providing security for corps members while in camp.

In his response, Nicholas described the NYSC as a bonding factor which should be sustained.

“After the civil war, the NYSC helped in the bonding process and it is still bonding people and as such it should be sustained,” he said.

Nicholas assured the NYSC of the commands continuous support to the scheme.
