NSE: Market Capitalisation gains N128 billion to close the days trading in a positive note

LAGOS, SEPTEMBER 21, 2016 – Nigerian Equity Market closed trading on Tuesday on a positive note after a negative start to the week on Monday with market capitalisation gaining N128 billion to close at N9.60 trillion compared to 9.56 trillion achieved on Monday.

G & B Journal reports that all share index closed high with a value of 28,209.93 which appreciates by 1.33% compared to 27,837.38 recorded on Monday.

The volume of share traded closed higher with an exchange of 231 million shares valued at N2.5 billion transacted in 3,452 deals. This performance contrasted with 317 million shares worth N2.7 billion traded in 3,125 deals on Monday.

Nigerian stocks closed trading on a positive note as the all share index rose 1.33%. Market capitalization at the close of trading was N9.7 trillion Dangote Cement tops the gainers table with an increase of N6.79 to close at N183 per share while Total Nig came closely second with a gain of N6.5to close at N269 per share.

Conoil appreciates with a value of N3.59 to close at N38.69 while Stanbic with an upper shift of about 0.55 to close at N16.05. Oando completes the top 5 gainers to increase by 0.25 to close at N5.34 per share.

In the Losers table, UACN top the chart with a loss of N0.78 to close at N21 per share while Unilever decline with a loss of N0.51 to close at N45.5 per share.

Wapco had a loss of N0.11 to close at 56.15 while GTBank had a depreciating figure of N0.1 to close at N27 per share. FBNH completes the top 5 losers table with a loss of N0.03 to close at N3.05 per share.

In top traders table, FCMB top the chart with a volume 51.5 million shares worth N51.6 million of the days transaction while Wapic was second with a volume of 23.9 million worth N11.9 million traded.

Access which sold 21.3 miilion shares worth N118.9 million was third on the table while Unilever transacted 16 million shares worth N729.7 million. GT Bank completes the top 5 traded with 13.3 million shares worth N359 million transacted.
