Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday resumed for the week on a negative trend with the All-Share Index dropping by 0.37 per cent.

The All-Share Index lost 89.39 points or 0.37 per cent to close at 23,826.76 against 23,916.15 achieved on Friday.

Similarly, the market capitalisation which opened at N8.225 trillion shed N31 billion to close at N8.194 trillion.

Forte Oil recorded the highest price loss to lead the losers’ chart, shedding N14.89 to close at N282.94 per share.

It was trailed by 7UP with a loss of N9.80 to close at N186.20, while Total dropped N7.50 to close at N142.50 per share.

Guinness declined by N4.30 to close at N111.50 and Conoil lost N2.40 to close at N22.34 per share.

On the other hand, Seplat led the gainers’ table growing by N9.71 to close at N203.96 per share.

Zenith Bank followed with a gain of N1.08 to close at N13.69, while International Breweries gained 80k to close at N16.80 per share.

Cement Company of Northern Nigeria increased by 48k to close at N10.08, while UAC Property appreciated by 26k to close at N5.46 per share.

UBA drove the volume of shares traded, exchanging 96.55 million shares worth N278.27 million traded in 591 deals.

It was trailed by Dangote Cement with a turnover of 30.29 million shares valued N3.64 billion exchanged in 97 deals, while FBN Holdings sold 23.15 million shares worth N93.21 million achieved in 325 deals.

Zenith Bank accounted for 21.97 million shares valued N297.23 million transacted in 595 deals and FCMB Group sold 18.82 million shares worth N18.47 million in 132 deals.

In all, investors’ staked N5.09 billion on 262.37 million shares traded in 3,887 deals.

This was against a total of 241.37 million shares valued N2.002 billion exchanged in 3,270 deals on Friday.
