Gov. Muhammadu Jibrilla of Adamawa has said that there is no going back in his administration’s effort to provide basic infrastructure in the state.

Jibrilla said this on Thursday in Yola in an interview, that his administration was committed to providing infrastructure as the state was backward in the area of infrastructure, compared to other North East states like Gombe and Taraba that were created after it.

“Adamawa has been backward in terms of infrastructure when compared to other states in the North East.

“I say look, the best thing to do is to close my eyes and embark on this development of providing basic infrastructure with the meagre resources we have, using my background as someone coming from private sector.

“I have to be very prudent, transparent and accountable.” Jibrilla said.

Jibrilla, who has so far constructed and rehabilitated 53 roads in major towns in the state in one year, said that he made it a duty to always go out personally in the evenings to inspect projects to endure compliance.

“I am always on sites as from 3 P.M. to inspect projects; for instance, I go out in the night to make sure newly installed street lights are working,” Jibrilla said.

While lauding the support and cooperation of Adamawa people to his administration, Jibrilla said the state was among the two selected to showcase performance of APC states.
