TUE, AUGUST 29 2023-theGBJournal |Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, one of the founding fathers of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), today was handed a six months suspension by the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), a development many political watchers say is ”unthinkable” before now.
The Party dealt the suspension notice after the party’s Special General Assembly, held in Lagos.
The Party suspended him for ”hobnobbing” with President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), romancing with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Mr. Peter Obi, without the board’s authorization.
He was found guilty on all of the charges which the party says is against it’s constitution
Also suspended alongside the Kwankwaso is the entire National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
The party consequently announced the appointment of new national officers, to be headed by Dr Agbo Major as acting National Chairman and Mr Ogini Olaposi as acting National Secretary with 18 others.
