Nigeria’s 43 ministers donate 50% of March salary to support COVID efforts as donations pour in from corporate bodies

SAT, MARCH 28 2020-theG&BJournal-The ministers made the donation today as a gesture of solidarity and support for the Federal Government’s efforts to tackle the disease, according to the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed who conveyed the message of the Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, who coordinated the donation.
‘’This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together their resources and support one another. This will facilitate an early resolution of the problem,’’ Lai Mohammed quoted Saraki as saying.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government today received 4 ambulances from Aliko Dangote Foundation who made the donation as part of its support for COVID-19 fight`.
The NCDC also announced the receipt of support from Airtel Nigeria and MTN Nigeria aimed at ensuring mobile users are receiving verified information on COVID-19.
‘’This is an important strategy to reach more Nigerians, especially those with limited access to the internet,’’ NCDC said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Friday, also took delivery of medical consumables donated by the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China in Abuja. The items comprised of face masks, hand sanitizers and gloves.
