Nigerian Senate confirms Lauretta Onochie as Chairman of NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku to serve as Managing Director

TUE. 20 DEC, 2022-theGBJournal| The Nigerian Senate today confirmed Lauretta Ifeanyi Onochie, from Delta State and representing the South-South, as the new Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Her confirmation follows the presentation of the report of Committee on Niger Delta led by Senator Amos Bulus to the Plenary, were Bulus moved that the Senate ”do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Niger Delta on the confirmation of nominations” of the NDDC Board.

On the list to constitute the Board are: Dimbga Erugba from Abia State, representing the South-East, Dr Emem Wilcos Wills from Akwa-Ibom State, representing the South-South, Elder Sen. Dimaro Denyanbofa from Bayelsa State representing South-South, Hon. Orok Duke and Dr Pius Egberanwen Odudu from Cross River and Edo State respectively representing South-South among others.

Chief Samuel Ogbuku from Bayelsa is positioned as the Managing for a term of two years, to complete the unexpired term of his predecessor in office.

Two Executive Directors in Major General Charles Airhiabere from Edo State (South-South) and Charles B Ogunmola from Ondo State (South-South) are also billed to serve in the Board.
