Nigerian President Tinubu mourns passing of Namibian President Geingob

SUN, FEB 04 2024-theGBJournal| President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said on Sunday that the passing of President Hage Geingob is a tragedy that comes at a time when Africa needs more visionary leaders who believe in the common destiny of the continent, and who can strengthen bonds across borders and spread the tendrils of cooperation across all fields of human endeavour.

Namibia’s Acting President announced to Namibians and the world today that President Geingob had passed away while being treated for cancer.

”As Namibia mourns, my thoughts and prayers, and indeed those of Nigerians, are with you,” President Tinubu assured the Republic.

President Tinubu equally, has extended on behalf of the people Nigeria, his deep condolences to the government and people of Namibia over the passing of President Geingob.

The President described Geingob’s death as a painful loss and added that ”Geingob is a veteran in the struggle for democracy; proponent of good governance, and advocate of economic, social, and political solidarity among African peoples.”
