Nigerian Armed Forces destroys another Boko Haram base in Bulawa, Borno State

THUR, APRIL 23 2020-theG&BJournal- The Nigerian Armed Forces have destroyed a number of compounds housing the Boko Haram terrorists on the fringes of Sambisa forest in Bulawa, Borno State through its air task force of operation, Lafiya Dole.

The air strikes, according to the Armed Forces, were executed on 21 April 2020 based on credible human intelligence reports as well as intelligence surveillance and recognisance missions that led to the identification of the target compounds within the settlement.
‘’Fighter jets dispatched by the Air Task Force to take out the compounds scored accurate hits in the target area leading to the destruction of some of the structures as well as the neutralization of some of the terrorists occupying the compounds,’’ the Armed Forces said. ‘’Boko Haram fighters who attempted to reposition to engage the attacking aircrafts, were mopped-up in follow-on attacks by the attacks.’’
The Armed Forces said in furtherance of the objective of restoring peace and security in the Noth East, will sustain the offensive against ‘’the enemies of our nation.’’
In another development troops of Operation Whirl Stroke destroyed armed miltia camp and recovered cache of arms, ammunition and other items at Anku Mbagen in Atera-Jange Torov Council Ward of Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
The special raids operations were carried out sequel to information received on the activities of Tiv armed militia operating around the border areas of Benue and Taraba States.
