SAT. 25 FEB, 2023-theGBJournal| The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, left his polling unit today in PortHarcourt devasted after the Independent Electoral Commission’s (INEC) deployed Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) failed repeatedly to recognize him.
The vociferous governor had gone early enough to cast his vote at his polling unit in Rumuepirikom, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area (LGA) where a large crowd of voters had gathered.
The BVAS system collapse became noticeable when the accreditation process for the Rivers governor failed repeatedly, forcing him and his family back to their family house in the hope that the machine will work.
Many voters were seen leaving the polling unit as at 12.30pm by theG&BJournal correspondent when it became obvious the BVAS machine will not be fixed or replaced by INEC officials at the polling unit.
Meanwhile, there have been wide-spread allegations of attempts to force voters to vote for a particular candidate by thugs in the state, with many of the voters posting their experiences on twitter.
