Nigeria Immigration Service and Dutch migration authorities strengthens bilateral cooperation on migration management Border security

THUR FEB 20 2025-theGBJournal|The Nigeria Immigration Service has deepened its collaboration with Dutch Migration authorities through high-level engagements aimed at enhancing Migration Management.

During a working visit to some agencies under the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security on 17th February 2025, namely: Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), and Repatriation and Deportation Service (RDS), the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service KN NANDAP pcc, mmis, fsmn engaged with their key officials.

The CGIS’ first point of call was the Headquarters of Repatriation and Deportation Service, where she met with the Director-General, Mrs. Simone Steendijk, and Director of International Affairs, Repatriation & Deportation Services, Mr. Rob Bokhoven, both officials emphasized the need for strengthened cooperation between the two countries.

They further pledged to support the Nigeria Immigration Service by providing advanced capacity-building programs, technical expertise, and knowledge exchange initiatives in various aspects of migration management to enhance operational effectiveness.

In the second meeting, the Comptroller General met with the Director-General of Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), Mrs. Rodhia Maas. Here, issues of mutual interest were also discussed.

She further met with the Deputy Director of Migration under the newly established Dutch Ministry of Assylum and Migration Mr. V Cramer.

In a separate meeting, the Comptroller General met with the Special Envoy for Migration, Mr P Schuurman of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

These engagements reaffirm the commitment of the Nigeria Immigration Service to strengthening International partnerships, adopting global best practices, and improving Migration Management.

Meanwhile, KN Nandap, continued her high-level engagements with the Dutch Migration and security agencies on the second day of her working visit to the Netherlands on 18th February, 2025.

These engagements reinforce the Nigeria Immigration Service’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and enhancing operational capacity in Border Security and Migration Management.
