Nigeria Football Federation releases provisional Super Eagles squad list for World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe

TUE MARCH 04 2025-theGBJournal| The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Tuesday released a provisional squad list to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Key players named in the provisional list include Goal Keepers Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Oloye, defender William Ekong, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi.

The midfield is packed with seasoned campaigners-Wilfred Ndidi, Dele-Bashiru, Alex Iwobi as well as Joseph Ayodele Eribo and Chrisantus Uche.

Notable players making headline in Europe are among the strike force, and include current African Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, squad veterans Kelechi Iheancho and Victor Boniface as well as Ahmed Musa and Simon Moses.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will play Rwanda away on March 21, 2025 and face Zimbabwe at home soil on 26 March, 2025.

The Super Eagles must overcome the challenge of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Benin Republic, Lesotho and Rwanda to reach the 2026 World Cup (2026WCQ) to be staged in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
