“This is the fourth year of Nigeria Entertainment Conference.

“It looks like yesterday, we are happy with the growth of the Nigerian entertainment and creative industry and we are happy with the products and services and ideas that have come forth since we launched in 2013.

“I’m very excited about the prospects for this year’s event, the theme for #NECLIVE2016 is `Entertainment Industry as Last Hope for Africa’s Largest Economy’.

“If you look at the budget from government this year, if you look at what the economy is saying, we can see that everybody is saying it is time for us to focus on the non-oil sector.

“But everybody is talking about agriculture, what does the creative industry bring to the table; what does entertainment, what does fashion, what does Nollywood, what does music, what does comedy, bring to the table?

“In what ways can we harness what we have to add value to the Nigerian economy in particular, and to the African and global economy in general.’’

According to the conference had played host to some of the biggest acts in the industry, with D’banj, Obi Asika, AuduMaikori, M.I, Eldee and Banky W featuring in the event .

Ayeni is a respected journalist and public relations practitioner with interests in Nigeria Entertainment Today and Black House Media, a PR firm, among others.
