Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission retains its 12-member dispute resolution Panel

MON, MAY 11 2020-theG&BJournal- The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the reappointment of it 12-member dispute resolution panel for the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
NERC said today that the reappointment of the members is in line with Section 42.1.3 of the Market Rules, which empowers it to constitute the panel and Section 42.3.8 (c) of the same Rules on the reappointment of members for a second term.
Members of the reconstituted panel include Olufumilayo A. Roberts, Adeyemi Akisanya, Augustine Mamedu, Adeyemi A Oyedele, Hussaini Mohammed and Okechukwu J. Chiazor. Other members in the reconstituted panel are Ajagbe E. Oyetunde, Onagoruwa Bolanle, Ezekiel Osarieme, Batholomew C. Onyejekwe, Nnena Ejekam and Sadiku Folorunsho.
The 12-member panel was first appointed in 2014 when NERC established the dispute resolution panel for the settlement of disputes in the electricity industry.
NERC advised market participants to take advantage of the channel of alternative dispute resolution for resolution of disputes in the industry in line with the provisions of the market rules.
The Panel oversees the arbitration and settlement of disputes between market participants in the NESI. The system Operator, the market operator, and others engaged in the trading of electricity are the participants.
