FRI, JULY 03 2020-theG&BJournal- The Niger State Government has ‘’officially and mutually’’ exited the tripartite agreement it entered on the Housing Estate in Madalla, Suleja Local Government Area, the State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Barrister Muhktar Nasale announced on Thursday.
Nasale explained during briefing on some of the State’s Executive Council resolution that the agreement between the State Government, a private consortium firm and the Federal Mortgage Bank have lasted for more than 17 years without completion.
Nasale said that the three parties involved have agreed to waive the investment that have hitherto been committed in the project and that the Niger State Government will engage a competent firm that will buy off the project with the view to completing it ‘’for the benefit of the citizens of the State.’’
In another development, the State Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Salihu disclosed at the briefing that efforts are in top gear towards ensuring that the education ministry meets up with the Federal Government’s recommendations and laid down protocols on COVID-19 for reopening of schools.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner revealed that the State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has approved the sum of N86 million for the repatriation of Almajirai to their States of origin in compliance with agreement reached among Northern Governors.
