WED, MAY 20 2020-theG&BJournal- Niger State governor Abubakar Sani Bello says his administration will prioritize ongoing projects around the state and ensure high-quality delivery.
The governor who is on assessment tour of on-going projects in the state, said that his administration is taking inventory of all on-going projects in the state so as to complete the ones that have attained an appreciable level.
The governor inspected the re-awarded Tagwai Dam road project in Tungan Goro which suffered setbacks in the past four years as the contracted initially given the project to handle lacked the capacity to handle the work leading to revocation of the contract. It was later re-awarded at the cost of over N678 million to another company, Messrs Construction Products Nigeria Limited (CPN).
According to Governor Bello, the contractor handling the project now has demonstrated that it has the capacity to deliver as it has executed similar projects within the state.
The governor referred to the shortfall in government revenue generation due to the coronavirus which has forced the prioritization of on-going projects, rather than embarking on new ones. But he assured that all projects that have direct impact on the people will be completed.
