WED OCT 02 2024-theGBJournal| Worried by the attacks on Hezbollah and other areas in Lebanon by Israeli government, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has sent a strong, cautionary message to Nigerians resident in Lebanon, asking them to consider moving out of the country now that commercial flights are still in operation.

”Though information from the Nigerian community in Lebanon indicated that most Nigerians have relocated from the southern part and are now relatively safe, we hereby advise them to keep safe until the ceasefire is in place,” NIDCOM said.

NIDCOM said it is gratifying to note that thus far, no Nigerian has witnessed any form of accident or injury and wish to advise them to continue to remain safe while the war lasts.

The Diaspora Commission equally advised Nigerians to liase with Nigeria Embassy in Lebanon for necessary guidance regarding their safety.

NIDCOM noted that their welfare and safety is of utmost concern to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Iran launched a barrage of hypersonic missiles-over 200- on Israel on Tuesday, targeting air defenses.

Israel Defense Force (IDF) describes the attack ”a severe and dangerous escalation”, and warned that there will be consequences.

”We will respond whenever and however we choose, in accordance with the directive of government of Israel, IDF Spokesperson RAdm Daniel Hagari said regarding Iran’s large-scale attack on Monday night.
