NGX All-Share Index jumps 58bps, market capitalization touches N76.58 trillion after gains in GTCO, OANDO and TRANSCORP

THUR JULY 03 2025-theGBJournal| Nigerian stocks rose on Thursday, with the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) and market capitalisation rising 0.58% to close at 120,977.20 points and N76.58 trillion respectively.

The rebound boosted the year-to-date (YTD) performance of the ASI to 17.54%, up from 16.92% in the previous trading session.

ACADEMY (+10.0%) and DEAPCAP (+10.0%) stocks climbed alongside GUINEAINS (+10), UNILERVER (+9/96%), CADBURY (+9.93%) and 53 other market gainers.

The total volume of trades declined by 11.0% to 933.40 million units, valued at NGN29.31 billion, and exchanged in 24,207 deals.

UNIVINSURE was the most traded stock by volume at 67.33 million units, while SEPLAT was the most traded stock by value at NGN13.56 billion.

Sectoral performance was positive, as the Insurance (+2.8%), Banking (+1.3%), Consumer Goods (+0.7%), Oil & Gas (+0.7%) and Industrial Goods (+0.3%) indices advanced.

As measured by market breadth, market sentiment was positive (3.9x), as 54 tickers gained relative to 14 losers.

NEIMETH (-8.5%) and LEGENDINT (-8.0%) recorded the most significant losses of the day.

Meanwhile, in the NASD OTC market today, both the NASD Securities Index (NSI) and market capitalisation recorded modest gains, rising by 0.07% to end the session at 3,392.0 points and N1.99 trillion respectively.

Trading activity declined, despite positive market movement.

Total volume traded dropped by 41.99%, settling at 425,567 units, while the value of transactions saw a slight dip of 2.49%.
