Sell pressures in BUACEMENT (-1.20%), ZENITHBANK (-2.97%), and GTCO (-2.93%) were the primary drivers of the drag on the overall market’s performance.
Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return dipped to 30.05%, while the market capitalization shed N126.14bn to close at N36.48trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 16.76%. A total of 363.99m shares valued at N4.53bn were exchanged in 7,018 deals.
ACCESSCORP (+0.00%) led the volume chart with 49.97m units traded in deals while UBA (-1.71%) led the value chart with N787.37m.
Market breadth closed negative at a 1.13-to-1 ratio with declining issues outnumbering advancing ones. CONOIL (-9.99%) led sixteen (16) others on the laggard’s log while CORNERST (+10.00%) topped fourteen (14) others on the leader’s table.
