THUR, 02 JUNE, 2022-theGBJournal| For the fourth consecutive session, the Lagos bourse extended losses as the benchmark Index closed 0.25% weaker to close at 52,840.21 points.
The market’s weak performance was driven by losses in AIRTELAFRI (-0.06%), ZENITHBANK (-1.92%), GTCO (-0.22%) and FBNH (-2.20%). As a result, the ASI’s year-to-date (YTD) return fell to 23.70%, while the market capitalization shed N72.25bn to close at N28.49trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions advancing by 12.20%. A total of 274.43m shares valued at N4.03bn were exchanged in 5,011 deals. FBNH (-2.20%) led the volume and value charts with 74.66m units in deals worth N836.14m.
Market breadth closed negative a 2.27-to-1 ratio with declining issues outnumbering advancing ones. ROYALEX (-10.00%) topped twenty-four (24) others on the laggard’s table, while PZ (+9.75%) led ten (10) others on the leader’s log.
