ILORIN, JANUARY 11, 2017 – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has discovered a warehouse stored with about 400 bags of Cannabis Sativa popularly called marijuana or Igbo, weighing 4.36 kilogrammes along Osere in Ilorin west local government of kwara state.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the State Commander of the agency, Mr Apeh Reuben said the marijuana warehouse was discovered following a tip-off from residents said investigation is ongoing in an effort to arrest suspects in connection with the Marijuana.
Representing the state government, the senior special assistant to the kwara state governor on security intelligence Dr Abdulsalam sulieman said the large quantity of the Marijuana was capable of causing problem in the state if it was not discovered and seized by the NDLEA.
He noted that it would have increase hooliganism, kidnapping and as well as promoting other criminal activities.
The chairperson of the Kwara State Drug Abuse Control Committee of the state ministry of health, Hajia Risikat Bolanle who expressed worry over the discovery of such large quantity of the Marijuana commended the NDLEA for carrying out their duties as expected and for their efforts towards eliminating drug abuse in the state.
