SAT, AUG 08 2020-theG&BJournal-The 17-storey ultra-modern headquarters (HQ) building of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) will be commissioned next week Thursday by the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
The President will perform the commissioning virtually after undertaking a virtual tour of the edifice, together with other accompanying facilities which includes a 1000-seater auditorium, four-level car park and a 10 megawatts gas-fired independent power plant at Elebele.
The NCDMB said the power plant was constructed in partnership with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and will provide uninterrupted electricity to NCDMB structures, the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park being developed by the Board at Emeyal 1, Bayelsa State and select structures in the State.
The NCDMB say the commissioning event will be telecast live and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Silva, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Managing Director, Malam Mele Kyari and the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri will all participate in the commissioning of the building.
The NCDMB located at Swali, Yenegoa, Bayelsa State was started in 2015, executed by an indigenous company, Megastar Technical & Construction using mostly locally sourced materials and labour.
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engineer Wabote Simbi said that part of the commissioning event will also be held in Yenegoa.
