TUE DEC 23 2025-theGBJournal| The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), on Monday held a meeting with representatives of three domestic carriers, Rano Air, United Nigeria Airlines, and XeJet, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The engagement, facilitated by the NCAA Directorate of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, focused on breaches of NCAA Part 19 Regulations, particularly those concerning consumer rights in cases of flight delays, flight cancellations, refunds, care and accommodation, as well as the right to information during the busy yuletide travel season.
Mr. Michael Achimugu, the Director Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, emphasized that airlines are required to comply fully with the provisions of Regulation Part 19 and warned that persistent non-compliance will attract regulatory consequences.
Meanwhile, the Consumer Protection Department of the NCAA has begun a four-day awareness campaign at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
The campaign is scheduled to last until Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
The exercise, which will take place across all airport terminals in Nigeria, is aimed at educating passengers on travel safety, rights, timely airport arrival and complaint channels during the festive travel season.
Key features of the campaign were passenger education, distribution of fliers and gifts items to the passengers and other airport users by scores of NCAA Consumer Protection Officers.
