SUN, FEB 04 2024-theGBJournal| System failure from the national grid has led to a nationwide power outage, and its not certain when the system will be fixed.
The collapse has left the nation’s airports-local and international, factories and households without electricity since mid day today.
This will be the first official system collapse in less than 2 months, and many Nigerians are blaming the persistent collapse on corruption and incompetence of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the sole electricity supplier, and its management for failure to get to grips with the intricacies around electricity grid management.
The TCN has so far issued no statement on the development, except for statements issued by the electricity distribution companies (DisCos).
Before the collapse, Nigeria, a country of over 200 million has been forced to manage a mere 2,407 megawatts of electricity.
