TUES, NOV 28 2023-theGBJournal|Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer has retained his seat on a new eleven-man Board of the state oil company, National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
Mele Kyari, a geologist, first appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, will serve on the new Board approved on Monday by President Bola Tinubu.
Chief Pius Akinyelure will serve as Non-Executive Board Chairman.
Other members of the Board are Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya — Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Ledum Mitee — Non-Executive Director Mr. Musa Tumsa — Non-Executive Director, Mr. Ghali Muhammad — Non-Executive Director, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu — Non-Executive Director and Mr. David Ogbodo — Non-Executive Director.
Ms. Eunice Thomas, the only female member of the Board will serve as a Non-Executive Director.
Their appointment, approved in compliance with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, takes effect from December 1, 2023.
