MON, FEB 10 2020-theG&BJournal– Odion Ighalo will play for Manchester United against Club Brugge in Belgium next week Thursday for their Europa League clash after being added to the team’s squad, Man United confirmed.
Fears of his exclusion following his return from China grew after the Nigerian striker missed Man United’s training camp in Marbella, Spain over coronavirus alert.
Ole Solskjaer, Man United manager clarified Ighalo’s exclusion from the Marbella camp: ‘’Odion will stay in Manchester because he came from China in the last 14 days. The virus there means we are not sure if he would be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again. So he is staying and working with personal coach on an individual programme. His family then can settle in England as well, so that’s a plus.’’
He officially joined Manchester United on loan from the Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua after Man Utd. beat rivals Tottenham to land the lightening quick striker. Utd will pay a third of his mega £300,000 a week wages.
Confirmed cases of the disease on the Chinese mainland has reached 40,171 by the end of Sunday, and 908 people had died of the disease and British health officials are clamping down on travellers from ground-zero of the virus. Sunday the UK department of Health said they carried out a total of 795 tests, with four testing positive and 791 confirmed negative.
