THUR, MAY. 04 2023-theGBJournal| Mohamed Salah’s first-half penalty gave Liverpool a vital Anfield win as they continue a late top-four assault.
Fulham are all but safe from relegation, and despite losing back-to-back games, they would be pleased with the way they played against both top teams, City and Liverpool, Liverpool and Brentford during the weekend at Anfield as they hope to clutch a miracle Champions League place.
Fulham’s season begins on Monday as they host relegation-threatened Leicester City in a must-win match for the away team.
Top four a little too late
Liverpool are just four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who sit fourth, with the Red Devils having a two-game advantage in hand, Liverpool have five games on the roll and have said to have picked form at the wrong time, the top four battle is out of our hands, and we would hope United drop points while they get all maximum points in the coming games.
Liverpool started this season poorly, and we’re out of running from a while ago. Injuries, poor form, and poor recruitment were key factors that halted Liverpool’s season, but this late-season surge has given a lot of optimism to Liverpool fans about what to expect next season.
Why does the miracle of the top four happen or not?
Liverpool fans should be excited about next season.
King Salah
Salah has been said to have had a poor season. A poor season for Salah is the best season for some players.
Mohamed Salah this season
🏟️47 games
⚽️29 goals
🅰️11 assists
40 G/A in 47 games for King Mo is a feat not many can boast.
He has had a mix of poor form, penalty misses, playing with different attack partners, and partners poor form, he isn’t in the running for player of the season, but Salah would look back at the season and be satisfied with his level of performance, he seems to have gotten his groove and would hope to spill over next season, Liverpool’s new shape has also helped him get back to form.
Fulham push on despite injuries.
Fulham were depleted due to injuries. Their midfield has lacked some flair and energy due to Andreas Pereira’s injury, and Tim Ream’s injury has been a blow to their defense. Aleksandar Mitrovic’s ongoing suspension has left Fulham lacking sharpness in attack, how they have still been scaling through and not losing badly is a plus in their season.
Slow and steady for Luiz Diaz
Since his return from injury, Diaz has been slowly getting back to his pre-injury form, his injury was a major blow to the team that had lost Sadio Mand, as he is like a direct replacement, Kloop would be impressed with the way he has worked his way to fitness.
