A member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Sopruchukwu Ezeonwuka (PDP-Anambra), has called on upcoming footballers in the country to emulate the virtues of the former Super Eagles Head Coach, late Stephen Keshi.

Ezeonwuka made this call in an interview on Thursday in Abuja, he described Keshi’s death as a shock to him and big loss to the country.

The lawmaker said that Keshi, left legacies that would be beneficial to the development of the country’s football.

Ezeonwuka said that the late National Coach served the country well in his capacity as a player and excelled also as a coach for the Super Eagles.

“To me, Keshi did a lot for the country, as one time captain of the team and later coach of the team.

“Apart from him, no other person has attained that feat in the Super Eagles. He, as a legend, left some legacies that the younger ones should emulate,’’ he said.

Keshi died in the early hours of Wednesday in Benin at the age of 54, leaving behind four children.
