MON MAR 09 2026-theGBJournal| Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, will continue to pursue policies that promote economic diversification across key sectors such as manufacturing, digital technology, agriculture value chains, sustainable energy, healthcare management, financial services, and the creative economy.

Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs Folashade Bada Ambrose stated this at the second edition of India Trade Expo held in Lagos on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, she revealed the sectors present strong investment opportunities for Indian companies with expertise in technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing systems, infrastructure development, and advanced services.

According to her, Lagos State aligns closely with the national priorities on growing the non-oil export and through her Ministry, highly impactful projects have been initiated among which are the training of 252 SMEs on export readiness in partnership with Afrexim Bank. 20 most outstanding trainees were sponsored to Algiers to participate in the IATF 2025.

“The India Trade Expo provides an excellent platform for deepening economic engagement between our two countries. Nigeria and India share a long history of trade and diplomatic relations, built on mutual respect and shared economic interests.

Over the years, Indian businesses have played a vital role in Nigeria’s industrial development, particularly in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture processing, and technology.

The Expo will build on an already strong foundation and offers a timely opportunity to strengthen investment cooperation in ways that will benefit both nations.
