SAT 13 FEB, 2021-theGBJournal-The Lagos State Lotteries Board (LSLB), the pioneer gaming regulatory body in the Nigeria, has received the International Standards Organisation (ISO) 27001 and 9001 certifications from PECB, a global ISO/IEC 17024 accredited provider of audit and certification services against internationally recognised standards as established by ISO.

The CEO of the Lotteries Board, Mr. Bashir Are said that the Certifications were approved in recognition of the LSLB’s compliance with internationally acceptable standards.

‘’In preparation for the ISO certifications, LSLB had to transform its processes to the required standards and trained its personnel, while champions were appointed from each department to lead the new ethos in line with the acceptable ISO standards,’’ Are said.

According to Are, ISO/IEC 27001 assists organisations to understand the practical approaches and methodologies that are involved in the implementation of an Information Security Management System.

‘’While ISO 9001 9Quality Management) is specifically designed to serve as a guiding framework for organisations of all sizes and industries as it provides a firm customer focus, such as delivering qualitative goods and services that subsequently leads to customer satisfaction.’’

Are said the attainment of ISO certifications exemplifies LSLB’s commitment towards continous business process improvement and resilient operations.

‘’The Certification is also a demonstration of LSLB to boost the confidence of prospective investors and promote the tourism and entertainment sectors of the State as encapsulated in the T.H.EM.E.S Agenda.’’

The LSLB boss noted that the certifications would also amplify partnerships with international regulators and technical partners.

‘’This signifies that our organisation operates with integrity, expertise and transparency.’’
