Lagos State is closing down schools with effect from March 23rd as COVID-19 preventive measure

THUR, MARCH 19 2020-theG&BJournal-The Lagos State government announced Wednesday that it is shutting down all public and private schools from Monday, 23rd March 2020, as response to the recent increase in the number of people testing positive to the Coronavirus disease in Nigeria.
The state government said the Incident Command Centre, headed by the Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will continue to trace all contacts of the identified cases.
The State government also placed restriction on all religious gatherings with more than 50 people and urged residents to reduce all forms of public and social gatherings as part of preventive measures to curtail the spread of the disease in the State.
