FRI 11 MARCH, 2022-theGBJournal- The Lagos State Government Thursday suspended the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Union (NURTW), and barred it from operating in all parks and garages in Lagos State.

The State Government said it will now set up a Committee to immediately take control of the parks and garages, and members of the committee will be key stakeholders in the sector.

‘’ The Government’s position is premised on its responsibility to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order in all parks and garages in Lagos State,’’ the state government said in a statement released by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy,  Gbenga Omotoso.

The action follows protracted leadership tussle among Union members which the State Government views as ‘’unsafe’’ for ”lives and property of all Lagosians and visitors.”
