Lagos shuts all Chrisland Schools within State following case of alleged sexual violence

MON 18 APRIL, 2022-theGBJournal | The Lagos State Government ordered the closure of all Chrisland Schools within the state ‘’pending further investigation’’ into alleged sexual violence case involving students of Chrisland Schools, a private educational institution founded in 1977  by Chairman, Dr (Mrs) Winifred Awosika (OON).

‘’The criminal allegations of the incident which occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates,  has been escalated to the Commissioner of Police,’’ the State Government said today in a lividly worded statement seen by theGBJournal.

‘’In view of the allegations, we are committed to ensuring that adequate medical and psycho social support is provided,’’ the state government said, while reassuring the public of its commitment to safety and child protection, especially in ensuring that all child-centred institutions within the state, formulate and implement policies and systems that are compliant with the Executive Order ( NO.EO/AA 08 of 2016), Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Programme.’’
