FRI OCT 03 2025-theGBJournal| The Lagos State Police Command has begun full enforcement of the tinted glass permit regulations, in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
The enforcement, which began on Thursday, is aimed at enhancing public safety and curbing crime.
”In view of the above, vehicle owners who are yet to register are strongly advised to obtain the approved Tinted Glass Permit at possap.gov.ng, the Police said.
The advised motorists not desirous of obtaining the Tinted Glass Permit to remove such tints or replace the factory-fitted glasses with transparent ones, as legally provided by the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act 2004.
”Vehicles with tinted glasses without the permit will be impounded, and offended prosecuted,” the Police Force warned.
Motorists are also advised to carry valid documents and cooperate during lawful police checks.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, stressed professionalism and warned against harassment or extortion by officers.
He emphasized that any officer found culpable will face appropriate disciplinary action, while their supervisory officer will also be held vicariously liable.
