WED, FEB 19 2020-theG&BJournal- Beyond the statistic that “if Lagos were a country, it would be the fifth largest economy in Africa in terms of GDP”, the government of this mini African country, has continued in their quest to organically add value to the development of its future human capital.
In line with this, the states chief executive, H.E. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu earlier today received in audience film maker and global girl education advocate, 17 year old Zuriel Oduwole and her Foundations delegation. He was very interested to learn how a simple idea she has can be turned into an impactful and a lasting curriculum for students in his state, especially in todays digital global economy.
Zuriel shared the story of her very first film class at the age of 13, and the incredible result of a student from that class creating a full length documentary in just 9 months, as seen in this VIDEO clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg2-qL3DbBE
Personally, she continuously works at finding avenues with corporate partners, to allow her develop a fixed and sustainable program, that’s scalable and deployable across the African continent, as her way of tackling the burgeoning problem of out of school and uneducated children across Africa – using non traditional education methods.
