MON, JAN 13 2020-theG&BJournal-Kaduna Electric today inaugurated a special investigation and prosecution taskforce on electricity offences today, that it says will assist in fighting the menace of energy theft.
The taskforce will help stem activities of individuals and organisations engaged in energy theft and meter bypass within its franchise states.
The taskforce will comprise officials from the Attorney General’s office, Ministry of Justice, men of the Nigerian Police Force and staff of Kaduna Electric.
The managing director/ CEO of Kaduna Electric Engr. Garba Hauna who was represented by Rahul Kumar, the company’s chief driving officer conducted the inauguration ceremony at the company’s corporate headquarters. He called on the team to be professional in the discharge of their assignment and to be sincere in their dealings with electricity users.
He said the frequency of meter bypass and energy theft is responsible for the challenges facing the electricity sector in the country.
The Team Lead of the special taskforce, Mr Aliyu Bamali, assured the management of Kaduna Electri that he is confident the team will carry out its mandate diligently and with integrity.
