It’s Africa vs the world’s football super powers at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 after the final draw

FRI 01 APRIL, 2022-theGBJournal| African countries today discovered their fate for the group stages of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and there are no easy group for the continent football contingent to the tournament.

Ghana once again will face Uruguay again looking to get a revenge after their bitter loss at the last world cup. Ghana beat Nigeria on away goal rule to qualify for the tournament. They drawn in Group alongside Portugal as well as Korea Republic.

The African Champions, Senegal is drawn in Group A which includes the host Qatar, and Ecuador and the Netherlands who have finished runners up three times in the past.

Group B sees England pitched against Iran, bitter rivals United States of America and an Euro play-off qualifier.

Group C pits previous winners Argentina against Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland

In Group E is Spain with vast World Cup Experience against super-power Germany, Japan and an IC play-off 2 winner.

Morocco is in Group F where they play Croatia, Canada and Belgium at the group stages.

In Group G is Cameroon against Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.

Africa is hoping to go one better at this year’s tournament having appeared at the quarter final stages
