THUR, MAY 28 2020-theG&BJournal-The Italian Football League, the Serie A will resume on June 20 after the Italian government gave its approval on Thursday.
Skysport reports that the decision came after a short and decisive meeting featuring Italian sports minister Vincenzo Spadafora, the Lega Seria A and Italian Football Federation presidents, and representatives from the Players’ Association and the Association of Italian Sports Medics.
The Serie A will on resumption become the third European major football league to resume action following the German Bundesliga and the English Premier League which also announced today that season will restart on 17 June with Aston Villa v Sheffield United and Manchester City v Arsenal.
The Italian league matches, like the rest of Europe, was suspended when the coronavirus pandemic began its wild across the country with fatalities.
