Italy’s Daniele Orsato to referee the FIFA World Cup opening match

SAT, 19 NOV, 2022-theGBJournal| The World’s greatest spectacle, the FIFA World Cup begins tomorrow in Qatar. Qatar, the host will play the opener against Ecuador and Italy’s Daniele Orsato, has been selected as the referee for the match scheduled for the Al Bayt Stadium.

Born in Montecchio, Italy, it will be the 46-year old’s World Cup debut and he will be joined by his compatriots Ciro Carbone and Alesandro Giallatini running the lines. Massimilliano Irrati will be on VAR while Romanian Itsvan Kovacs will be the fourth referee.

The Qatar FIFA World Cup is projected to break all viewership record as at least 5 billion people expected to be glued to their television sets and digital media platform beginning Sunday November 20, 2022.
