MON, FEBRUARY 27 2017-Iraqi foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari received on 22 February 2017 the Canadian minister of the International development Mrs. Mary Cload Bebo and the accompanying delegation in the minister’s headquarter in Baghdad.
During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Ottawa, and means to strengthen it to serve the interests of both friendly people.
The minister expressed Iraq’s thanks and appreciation for the Canadian support like humanitarian aids to the displaced people and donating 158 million dollars to build the hospital in Al-Mosul, and sending Canadian trainers to train Iraqi forces in bombing field.
His Excellency said that Iraq is fighting Da’esh terrorists who came from more than one hundred states, and the Iraqi people insists on saving its unity, sovereignty, and defeating terrorism and liberating all its areas, and any other battle which isn’t against terrorism is fake, as the real war is world war against terrorism, so we have to work together to defeat the mutual enemy which is targeting all countries.
Dr. Al-Jaafari added that terrorism today is targeting civilians, children, women, sheikhs, Temples, mosques, churches, markets, hospitals, schools and universities, saying that Iraqis are liberating their areas and making Da’esh terrorists losing a lot, referring to that all people have the right to be proud of the victories achieved by Iraqis, as Iraq is fighting on behalf of the world and to defend itself.
From her side, the Canadian minister of international development, stressed on that her visit to Baghdad is to prove her government’s commitment towards Iraq especially it is fighting against Da’esh terroristic gangs, stressing on that it is of her government priorities is supporting Iraq, which is military, humanitarian and service support.
Mrs. Mary Cload Bebo added that terrorism is an international danger, and it is of our duty to defeat Da’esh, as it is our mutual enemy, stressing on that they participated with 158 million dollars as aids and 24 million dollars for development, and continuing their support to Iraq.
