FRI JAN 17 2025-theGBJournal| Niger State made history as the first state in Nigeria to engage in a strategic partnership with the D8+1, an intergovernmental organization comprising nine developing nations, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey, and of recent, Azerbaijan.
The D-8 aims to foster economic cooperation and enhance development prospects among its members. By serving as a platform for collaboration, the organization promotes trade, investment, and sustainable development across key sectors.
The visit marked a significant step for Niger State in advancing its development agenda through partnerships in youth empowerment, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), education, health, renewable energy, and, most importantly, Agriculture and Livestock.
During the visit, the Farmer Governor emphasized the state’s commitment to leveraging this partnership for the betterment of the people. He directed the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Abubakar Usman to lead a team tasked with engaging the Secretary General of the D8+1, Ambassador Isiaka Imam, in developing a clear roadmap for collaboration and partnership.
This initiative underscores the Farmer Governor’s dedication to driving sustainable development and improving livelihoods through innovative governance and international collaboration.
