INEC captures 6 million more youths in CVR, Osun and Delta lead in completed online registration

SAT, 02 JULY, 2022-theGBJournal| The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in its latest Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) update reports a total of 23,560,043 million Nigerians have so far been captured in online voter registration as at Monday 27th June 2022.

The Commission says the total figure includes applications for voter transfer, requests for replacement of PVCs, update of voter information record, etc.

The Commission also indicates that it captured in its data, a total 10,487,972 million fresh registrants in the latest report within the month of June alone.

8,631,696 million are reported as completed registration. A total of 3,250, 449 million completed their registration online and 5,381,247 million completed theirs physically with the period.

The update shows that a total of 17, 623, 274 million youths have been captured as fresh voters within two months. 6,081,456 million more youths were captured in latest CVR update, and in May 2022 youth registration topped 11,541,818 million, bringing the total to 17, 623, 274, reflecting the growing interest of that segment of the population on the political events in the country.

Among the 10,487,972 million fresh registrants, 4, 292,690 are captured as male, 4,339,006 as female and 67,171 as People with Disability (PWDs).

In Pre-registration statistics by States (fresh registrants only), Osun State leads with 708, 968 fresh registrants followed by Delta with a total of 641,174, Lagos State at 640,774, Bayelsa State at 550, 207 and Kaduna State at 547,811 make up the top five.

In Northern Nigeria, Borno State also has highest number of fresh registrants at 501, 314 followed by Kano at 369, 651, Zamfara at 359, 183. Kebbi at 81,133, Enugu at 72,165 and Imo State at 70,759 have the lowest number of people registering.

Of the 8,631,696 million completed registration, Delta State tops with 396,900 followed by Bayelsa with 379,438, Rivers State 372, 406, Lagos 371, 760 and Osun at 362, 609.

More Students are also registering to vote according to the statistics. 3,084,94 have completed their registration.
