ABUJA, OCTOBER 9, 2018 – Senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held an emergency meeting on Monday evening to address the removal of Senate President Bukola Saraki, Daily Trust reports.
The news platform stated that the lawmakers met at a location in Abuja discuss the impeachment of the Senate President following his defection from the ruling APC to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Details of the meeting could not be ascertain however, it was gathered that the senators debated seriously on Saraki with others arguing that the party was not fair to some of them.
Recall that Senate Majority Leader, Ahmed Lawan, had during APC Presidential Convention, which held at the Eagle Square, in Abuja, at the weekend, said the APC senate caucus intends ‘to force through lots of things.’
He revealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and President Muhammadu Buhari, how the senate caucus will impeach Senate President, Bukola Saraki as soon as the senate resumes.
In the same vein, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who represents Delta central senatorial district, also stated that APC senators would look out for the slightest opportunity to impeach Saraki.
