…Recounts attacks by opposition parties
TUE, NOV 07 2023-theGBJournal| Governor Hope Uzodimma met with top leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stakeholders at the party’s headquarters in Owerri today, narrating the numerous verbal attacks by opposition parties in the run up to the November 11 Governorship election.
“I faced baseless allegations, endured slanderous attacks, and confronted numerous plots aimed at destabilizing my administration. By the grace of God, we remained steadfast,” he recounted.
He said the intention of the opposition was to divert his attention and undermine the government, ”but I appreciate your steadfast support,” he told the party members.
Uzodimma expressed his gratitude to the party for standing resolute despite the challenges posed by ”internal and external forces.”
On the issue of security of the State, the governor noted that his administration successfully restored stability in Imo State, and pointed to their lack of support from the indigenes of the State as well as what he described as ”their questionable track records of those he is contesting against.”
They hoped to exploit the orchestrated insecurity, which they had financed and endorsed.”
Governor Uzodimma commended the stakeholders for being the lifeblood of the party and for their role in elevating the party’s stature.
