THUR SEPT 04 2025-theGBJournal| At the Opening Ceremony, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chairman of the IATF Advisory Council and former President of Nigeria, described the Fair as “a symbol of Africa’s economic awakening where trade and investment unite Africans and energise the ambition of the AfCFTA.”
Since 2018, the IATF has delivered more than US$120 billion in trade and investment deals, cementing its role as the continent’s engine for trade and integration.
Milestones such as the US$2.9 billion Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project, approved at the Cairo edition, highlight its power to turn vision into action.
The Algiers edition is the largest yet, bringing together 48 African countries, 75 global participants, over 2,000 exhibitors and 35,000 delegates.
With an expected US$44 billion in trade and investment deals, the Fair is a marketplace of opportunities and a catalyst for continental transformation.
Organised by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the AfCFTA Secretariat, IATF2025 continues to stand as the defining platform where Africa’s trade ambitions meet real investment and lasting partnerships.
