JANUARY 29, 2018 – Henry Onyekuru has returned to Belgian champions Anderlecht after he completed his rehabilitation from a knee injury at parent club Everton.
Anderlecht announced the forward’s arrival at the club at the weekend.
Onyekuru himself has been quoted as saying, “The injury initially did not look good, but in the end it was not as first feared.”
It is not yet sure when Onyekuru will return to action.
Both the player and club had disagreed over whether he needed surgery after he injured his knee in a league game at former club KAS Eupen last year.
However, there have been no reports that he has since undergone surgery.
His chances of staking a claim for a place in the Super Eagles World Cup could now be back on after they appear to have evaporated by this injury.
