TUE 01 JUNE, 2021-theGBJournal- ‘’8 years ago, we set out to disrupt the Nigerian insurance landscape in the true fashion of improving lives and transforming the continent. That long journey came to a head start today with the formal launch of Heirs Insurance,’’ said Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony O. Elumelu as he ushered in the latest entrant to the Nigerian Insurance market Today.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was also in attendance at special guest of honour at the launch of business which includes Heirs Life Assurance where he said he used the ‘’opportunity to encourage more private sector initiatives for sustainable development and to deepen the growth of our nation’s economy.’’
According to the Governor, ‘’Your official hashtag #SimpleLifeIsHere says a lot-It’s all about Simplicity, ensuring that we’re not here for ourselves alone but we’re here to support others and to uplift the weak and the vulnerable in our environment so that we can build a bigger economy.’’
According to Tony Elumelu, ‘’the two companies will extend Heirs Holdings group track record of excellence, deliver affordable and reliable insurance services to Nigerians, and positively impact our community development through jobs creation and financial inclusion.’’
He added, ‘’what we are doing here today demonstrates our core purpose, our essence, and who we are in the African continent, starting with our country.’’
He noted that Heirs Holdings have a track record of governance and the best tradition of compliance.
‘’It is good when our policymakers, regulators, and public sector leaders understand that for us to create employment and relegate poverty we must all work together.’’
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission, Thomas Olorundare Sunday, at the occasion said, ‘’the timing of this launch could not have been more auspicious as the insurance commission (NAICOM) is currently rolling out different initiatives for National development.’’
He added, ‘’To Heirs Insurance and Heirs Life. I want to say thank you for coming into our industry, making a difference, impacting the economy, and helping us to deepen the insurance sector in Nigeria.’’
